Hi everyone! I'm so pleased to kick off our Featured Bride series with my very own wedding! To Honeymoon or Not To Honeymoon?

When planning a Disney wedding there are many things to think about...where should I have my reception? Should I have a Wishes wedding or an Escape Wedding? Would my guests enjoy a dessert party? How many nights should I include in my room block minimum? The list goes on and on! As a past Disney Bride I know how many decisions have to be made! We spent countless nights after our engagement, well let’s be honest, even before our engagement, talking about a Disney wedding and everything we wanted to include. You would have never thought that the most difficult decision in our entire wedding process was where to go for our Honeymoon!

At first we had our heart set on a Hawaiian honeymoon, but whenever we talked about it we always would throw in “But we could always just stay in Disney.” We went back and forth for months, and ultimately we made the decision to stay in Disney World for our honeymoon.

Let Them Eat Cake!!

If you know me, you know I love sweets. Wedding cakes are no exception! So let's talk about your options when it comes to a Disney Fairytale Wedding!

First let's talk about Escape Brides. For you ladies, Disney has a list of options for you to choose from.  While I won't show you ALL the options, just click here to see them all! These cakes are relatively simple, and while sometimes you can adjust a color of the decorations or flowers, these are relatively non-customizable. I've started a board on Pinterest just for Escape Cakes!

For flavors, here are your standard options:

Cake Flavors

• Chocolate
• Yellow
• Marble 
• Almond

Fillings

• Chocolate Mousse
• White Chocolate Mousse
• Strawberry Mousse
• Raspberry Mousse
• Bavarian Cream  
• Amaretto Mousse

You can typically request other flavors but there may be a small surcharge.

Now for you Wishes Brides, the sky is pretty much the limit! If you are lucky enough to make it down for your planning session, you'll even get a cake tasting! Each tier can be a different flavor! Our cake was Almond cake and Amaretto filling, Yellow cake with raspberry filling and Chocolate cake with peanut butter!

Keep in mind that with a Wishes wedding you have to spend a minimum amount on Food and Beverage but not necessarily on the cake specifically. We went through 3 different versions of our cake before finally picking on one that we loved, and fit our budget!

Remember that you can pretty much tell them exactly what you want! Be sure to not only look at photos of previous wedding cakes that Disney had designed, but just cakes in general! Disney can do AMAZING things!
